Website Content
Website content lets your team write the words and pictures of your website in the app. Your website reads them from here, so changing a headline or publishing a blog post no longer means asking a developer or an AI builder to change the site.
You also get a Live preview: your real website opens beside the editor, and you click any heading, paragraph or picture to change it.
Use cases
| Situation | How Website content helps |
|---|---|
| Changing one sentence on the site takes days | Click it on the live preview, edit it, save. The site updates by itself. |
| You want to publish blog posts without touching code | Write the post here and mark it Published. |
| An AI builder made your site and the words are stuck in its code | Give the builder one prompt. From then on the site reads its words from the app. |
| A post is not ready | Keep it as a draft. Only published posts show on the site. |
Before you begin
- Only an admin can set up Website content. Everyone on the team can then use it.
- You need a website that can read content from the app. The easiest way is to let an AI website builder (such as Lovable, Claude or ChatGPT) build or rewire it, using the prompt described below.
Set it up from Features
- Open Features and find the Website content card under Find and win customers.
- Choose Set up.
- Under Get ready, choose Add website content. It adds the lists for pages, posts and sections, together with a few example posts, so you have something to edit straight away.
- Choose Continue. You see It’s live.
- Choose Try it to open the live preview.
The card now shows Live. You can also add it from Settings → Templates: open the Website content card and choose Add to workspace.
How the content is organised
| Part | What it is |
|---|---|
| Pages & posts | One entry for each page or blog post. It holds the details only: title, address ending, summary, cover image, category, tags, author, status. |
| Sections | The content of a page or post. A post is a stack of sections shown one after another. |
| What a section holds | Text, pictures and videos. Each section has a heading, a body and an order. |
For example, the example home page is made of a hero section, a features section and a call to action. A blog post is usually one or more text sections.
Write a new blog post
- Open Website content (or the Content group in your sidebar) and choose Create.
- Fill in:
- Title, the headline of the post.
- Summary, one or two lines shown in lists.
- Category and Tags, so readers can find it.
- Status. Choose Published when it should appear on the site.
- Published on, the date shown on the post.
- Address ending, the last part of the post’s web address, in lowercase without spaces, for example
late-invoices. Each address can be used once.
- Choose Finish & Close. The post appears in the list.
- Open the post and go to its Relations tab.
- Choose Create New to add a section. Give it a heading, write the text, and add pictures or videos if you like.
- Save the section. Add more sections for more text, in the order you want.
A post needs a title and an address before it can be published. Only published posts show on your site. Keep a post as a draft while you work on it.
Let your AI builder run the site: One-prompt CMS setup
One prompt teaches your AI builder to show, add and update your posts, with pictures and videos.
- Open Settings → Templates and find the Website content card.
- Choose One-prompt CMS setup. The window Run your website from here opens.
- Create your secret key. Choose Create my key. It is like a password for your site. It is shown once, so copy it. (If you already have a key, choose Use an existing key.)
- Give the prompt to your AI builder. Choose the button for your tool: Lovable, Claude, ChatGPT, Grok or Gemini. The tool opens with the prompt ready, or the app tells you it was copied so you can paste it. You can also choose Copy prompt.
- Keep the key in your builder’s secret settings. Paste it there, never into the chat.
Your builder remembers the instructions, so later changes keep using them. The prompt never contains your key.
Under the steps, Sample projects on GitHub lists open-source example websites you can copy, one for each way of building a site: Next.js, React, Vue, Astro and HTML. There is also a link to the full demo site.
Live preview
Live preview shows your real website next to the app.
- Open Live preview, from the Website content card or from the sidebar.
- If this is your first time, the page shows three steps: Get the builder instructions, Add one line to your site, and Type your address above and press Show site.
- Add the one line your AI builder gives you before the end of your website’s page. It lets the app see your site. Visitors never notice it. If the line is missing, the page says One line missing. and shows it for you to copy.
- Type your site address in Website address and choose Show site.
- Click any heading, paragraph or picture on the page. The post or section that holds it opens, ready to edit.
- Save. Your site updates by itself, and the page keeps its place. It also follows you when you move between pages of a single-page site.
Good to know:
- Links work as usual. Hold Alt (Option) and click a link to edit its text instead.
- A tip bar explains this the first time. Choose Got it to hide it. The help button next to the address brings the tips back.
- Manage content opens the pages and posts behind your site.
- Open in a new tab shows the site in its own window. Use it if your site cannot be shown inside the app.
- Reload the site refreshes the page.
- A button to watch a short video appears where a video is available.
If you see Couldn’t find where this text comes from. It may not be written in the app., that text is still written in the website itself. Ask your builder to read it from the app. If several places use the same text, Which one do you want to edit? lets you choose.
Put it in the sidebar
Admins can add shortcuts for the whole team.
- Choose Arrange sidebar.
- Under Add, choose Live preview and Website content.
- Choose Done.
Both appear only after Website content is set up. Live preview opens your site beside the editor. Website content opens the list of pages and posts. Hiding a shortcut does not turn anything off.
How your website reads the posts
Your website asks the app for the posts it should show, using a key from your workspace. It receives only published posts, and each post’s sections in order. Pictures you upload get a plain address, so they load for anyone visiting the site.
You do not need to do this yourself. Your AI builder does it from the prompt. If a developer builds the site by hand, the technical details, including how to create and use a key, are in the API guide.
Troubleshooting
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| The post is not on the site | Check its status is Published and that it has a title and an address ending. |
| That doesn’t look like a website address. | Type the full address, starting with https://. |
| The preview stays on Waiting for your site… | Check that the one line is on your site. |
| Add the website content template first | Set it up from Features as described above. |
| Only admins can add templates. | Ask an admin to set it up. |
