What's the difference between the Assistant, MCP, and API?
The Assistant lives inside SoftSync. MCP lets Claude, ChatGPT, or Codex work in your CRM. The API is for your own code. All three use the same records and permissions.
What is MCP?
The Model Context Protocol is an open standard that lets AI assistants use other apps. Connect SoftSync once and an AI that supports MCP can read and act on your CRM.
Which AI assistants can I connect?
Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, and other clients that support MCP.
Do I need an API key?
Not for MCP. It signs in with your SoftSync account. For the REST API, create a personal key in Settings → API Keys.
Can I control what the AI is allowed to do?
Yes. Keep it read-only, require confirmation before changes, or set limits for a narrow task.
Is my data used to train AI models?
No. We don't train models on your workspace.
Can it use attached files?
Ask about files that are available in your workspace. The Assistant will use the information it can access.
How is it different from Autopilot?
The Assistant helps with the question or action in front of you. Autopilot checks for a repeatable situation and handles it on a schedule.
