Short answer
Clay is useful when a static list is not enough: its documented workflows combine data providers, enrichment, signals, transformations, and activation. SoftSync should receive the approved account and contact context, source URLs, score rationale, and owner—not an unreviewed flood of enriched rows.
The situation
Your team knows the kind of company it wants, but timing matters. A funding event, job change, hiring pattern, website visit, or other signal can make a familiar account worth calling today rather than next quarter.
Why teams use Clay
Clay describes a workflow model built around finding, enriching, transforming, and exporting data. Its customer-story library shows teams using it for prospecting, account research, inbound enrichment, and outbound preparation. Those stories are vendor-published examples, so use them to illustrate the workflow—not to promise the same lift for SoftSync users.
Connected workflow
- Build the ICP and signal rule in Clay, with an explicit reason a record qualifies.
- Enrich only the fields needed for the seller’s decision; retain provider and timestamp metadata.
- Send a small, reviewed result to SoftSync through a verified API, webhook, CSV, or automation bridge.
- Use a SoftSync group and custom views for “signal received,” “seller reviewed,” and “not a fit.”
- Use Assistant for account preparation and Autopilot for review tasks, reminders, or carefully approved follow-up.
Human control and boundaries
Signals decay. Enrichment can be incomplete, expensive, or wrong. Do not let a Clay score silently enroll someone in an email campaign or change an opportunity stage. Ask a seller to confirm fit, identity, suppression status, and message relevance first.
What to measure
Track signal-to-review time, percentage of enriched fields with provenance, duplicate rate, accepted opportunities per signal type, and how often sellers reject a signal as noise.

FAQ
Does SoftSync replace Clay?
No. Clay supplies the enrichment and signal workflow; SoftSync provides the relationship record, meeting context, and next-action discipline.
Can every Clay field sync automatically?
Do not assume that. Define a small field contract, verify the available API or bridge, and review writes before using them in shared CRM views.
