folk is cheaper than us.
Here is the one thing we would not trade for it.

Starting with the concession, because you can check it in ten seconds. folk Standard is $24 a member and our Pro is $29. On entry price they win, and no amount of writing changes that.

You typed this once

“Everyone I met at the conference is sitting in my inbox. File them, tell me who is worth following up, and draft the follow-ups.”

  1. The filing

Forty-one people, filed by signature and domain.

It checked for duplicates before creating, so the nine already in the CRM gained a note rather than a second record.

  2. The conversation

It sorted them on what they said, not their job title.

Six had a live problem we solve. Eleven were being polite. Seniority had nothing to do with it.

  3. The drafts

Six follow-ups, each mentioning what that person actually said.

It read every address off the record rather than inventing one, because it is told never to invent a recipient address.

  4. The stop

    Six drafts. Nothing sent.

A send cannot be undone, and it is told so before it is allowed to try.

Before it touches anything

The cheaper seat is real.
This is what it does not come with.

folk is AI-native and good at it, and this is not a claim that their assistant is bad. It is a claim about something specific and checkable: the written briefing handed over before anything writes. Ours, quoted:

  • records
  • messages
  • notes
  • email
  • tables
  • groups_and_views

email

Always call listEmailTemplateVariables instead of guessing a field name, or you will silently send “Hi ,” to everyone

A mail merge that greets five hundred customers by no name at all.

email

Never invent recipient addresses: the address is read from the email field on each record

Mail sent to an address the model made up because yours was blank.

records

Do not guess or fabricate IDs

A note filed against a company that does not exist.

records

check for duplicate records before creating

The same customer entered three times, each with a third of the history.

Four of the ways a helpful assistant quietly damages a contact list, and the sentences that stop each one. Worth five dollars a seat a month? That is genuinely your call, and it is a better question than which logo wall is longer.

Quoted from our own server, 10 September 2026. Connect it and read the rest. We have not printed what anyone else hands their assistant, because we cannot read their server without an account, and a claim about it would be worth nothing.

Both sides

Two young CRMs,
split differently.

Close in age, price and intent. The real difference is where each of us drew the line between plans: theirs around features, ours around capacity.

What we do that folk does not5

  • Written skill guidance for your assistantPrinted above.
  • A permanent free planThey have a two-week trial and no free tier.
  • API access on every tierTheirs is Premium at $48 a member.
  • Custom objects and deals, freeTheirs are Premium.
  • Capacity gating, not feature gatingEvery plan here runs the whole CRM. Their $24 to $48 step is which features you get.

What folk does that we do not7

  • A cheaper entry price$24 against our $29. If Standard covers you, they are cheaper.
  • Unlimited members on every planOur Pro stops at 25 seats and Business at 250. They cap nobody.
  • Enrichment as a real product500 credits a month on Standard. Our autofill is thinner and its best data is Norwegian.
  • The LinkedIn extensionTheir signature feature, and genuinely good. Ours is less polished.
  • Email sequencesMulti-step, on Premium. Ours are campaigns built from one email.
  • A US customer base you can look upPublic references and reviews. We have neither.
  • Magic fieldsTheir AI field feature is ahead of ours today.

True of both5

  • Both AI-native and recentNeither of us is retrofitting onto a product from 2010.
  • Published per-seat pricingNo quote step, no seat minimum, self-serve.
  • About a fifth off annually20% theirs, 25% ours.
  • Email campaigns from the CRMBoth. The sequencing depth differs.
  • Neither of us is the safe choiceBoth young. If you want the vendor nobody can criticise, it is not either of us.

Pick folk instead if

You are a founder, an investor or a small agency doing relationship-led outbound off LinkedIn, and enrichment is the thing you would use daily. folk is cheaper, their enrichment and extension are better than ours, and they do not cap members. Pick them also if you want a CRM built around people rather than deals, because that is the product they set out to make.

Every figure about them is from their own published pricing page, read 10 September 2026. Tell hello@softsync.ai if one is wrong and we will fix it and re-date it.

Fair questions.

folk is $24 and you are $29. Why pay more?
If folk Standard does what you need, do not. The comparison changes if you need deals as an object, email sequences or API access, because those are Premium at $48. Then it is $48 against our $29.
Is the skills thing not just documentation?
It is documentation, handed to a model instead of to a developer, before it is allowed to write. That is the whole idea. Judge it by reading the four quotes above and asking whether an assistant that had not been told those things would have got your contact list right.
What does folk cost?
From their pricing page, read 10 September 2026: Standard $24 per member monthly on annual billing and $30 monthly, Premium $48 and $60, Enterprise from $80 and from $100. No free plan, and a two-week trial with no card.
You cap seats and they do not. Is that not worse?
On that line, yes. Our Pro takes 25 and Business 250, and folk caps nobody. It is in the middle column above rather than in a footnote.

Try both this week.

folk gives you two weeks and we do not charge at all for three seats. Either way it should go on a product you used rather than a table one competitor wrote about another.
